Artifact 1 - Resumé
My resumé displays experience both in teaching and as an artist. In my coursework, I have had a handful of experiences working with and teaching students of varying ages and ability levels. I feel this demonstrates flexibility and ability to differentiate in my teaching practice. Also in my resumé, it is displayed that I have had a few instances displaying my artwork in a professional gallery setting. I have had the opportunity to develop cohesive bodies of artwork, prepared artwork for installation, and organizing an exhibition; all of which will be things that will be taught to future art students of mine. I've also listed a few skills relating to photography that demonstrate expertise with the medium. The final thing that I would like to address in this artifact is my work experience outside of art and education. I have worked a few different jobs that have required me to be punctual, organized, and above all a hard worker; all of which are necessary as an educator.
Artifact 2 - Composition Presentation
I feel that this presentation demonstrates my knowledge and understanding of the basic composition principles that apply to all 2-D art making methods. This is an example of a presentation that I showed to two groups of students in art classes to help gain an understanding of what these principles are and what they look like. The images that I put into this slideshow are clear representations of a few different composition elements that artists have used in the past and are currently using today. From this presentation, students displayed a greater working knowledge of these concepts by utilizing them in their artistic creations.
Based on the artifacts provided above, I feel that I am proficient in this standard. I feel that I have a strong understanding of a variety of artistic mediums, art concepts, and art world experience to help students be successful inside and outside the school walls. In order for me to grow in this standard, I think that what is required from me is that I need to gain more knowledge in creating and utilizing digital art making technology. As students become more and more advanced with technology, it will be important for me to be able to teach students how to use these tools.
