Artifact 1 - Lesson Reflection
In this artifact, I am demonstrating my attention to detail in terms of reflecting on my performance as a teacher. I often look closely at what happened in a class period, and consider many options on what I could have done differently to better my instruction. I try not to glance over any details in my teaching during the reflecting process. In my reflections, I try to move past describing the lesson that occurred, and look at the relationship between my teaching and student learning. Ultimately, I recognize that what I do as a teacher plays a large role in what my students learn, and how well they learn it.
At this point in my teaching practice, I feel that I am proficient in this standard. I frequently reflect on my teaching and consider what I need to do differently to further refine my skills as an educator. As I move forward in my practice, I need to keep record of what went well and what needs to change in a lesson in an organized place. I should keep these records in a place and format where I can quickly review them and consider the changes before I teach them. I feel that adding this to my practice would push me higher in this standard.
